  • Judge #12- Morenda deftly uses diary-style narration in this piece to spin a disturbing tale and to characterize an even more disturbing protagonist.

  • This is an unnerving story that builds in intensity. Very effective use of first-person narration and varied sentence structure. Sharply written with a chilling ending that I didn’t see coming. Whew!

This piece was the perfect length because it gave enough context clues but didn’t spoil the twist. The perspective was intriguing and the subject was startling (in the best way!)
