Judge #5-This painting is as mysterious as nature, perhaps the hummingbird sees the flower differently that human eyes, their scale is definitely different than ours as viewer! The artist seems to be playing with that scale, on one hand the image brings us into the intimacy of the hummingbird approaching the center of various types of flowers, drawn down to the nector. Due to the deep blue background, the imagery also reads as if they are symbols floating across the night sky, mimicking the cycles of the universe or perhaps a black hole going deep into space. This artist seems to allow the ambiguity to thrive, allowing for multiple readings, referencing science and spirituality simultaneously.
