Judge #5-There is obviously alot going on in this painting, so the eye roams around and the brain asks “what’s this, what’s the story here”, and that is OK. It is a fun painting, the colors being bright, composition dynamic with lots of diagonals, depth as parts move back in space and other parts move forward, with figures, creatures, objects and pockets of landscapes. The title and imagery ask lots of questions and leave the viewer wondering what the back story is to this crazy narrative.
Judge #1- I adore the complexities between the abstract and realistic and the contrasting colors. My favorite is the little window to the serene seascape amongst the chaos in the rest of the painting. It reminds me of being overwhelmed and closing my eyes to “go to my happy place”. The use of contrasting colors and shapes is very artfully done too. Total eye candy.
Judge 2. It’s fun to pick out identifiable object, arms, bug-like critters, etc. in this bright and cheery work reminiscent of a hallucinogenic dream, a happy one.
